Overview

Gustavo Martín Garzo nació en 1948 en Valladolid, ciudad en la que reside. Desde su primera novela, «Luz no usada» (1986), su prolífica trayectoria le ha valido la concesión de prestigiosos premios literarios, como el Nacional de Literatura en 1994 por «El lenguaje de las fuentes» o el Nadal en 1999 por «Las historias de Marta y Fernando». «El lenguaje de las fuentes» es una novela peculiar en la que el tema del amor tiene un tratamiento originalísimo en una obra protagonizada por dos indiscutibles cimas de la hagiografía cristiana: una Virgen María, que se aleja de la tradicional concepción inmaculada y de la virginidad maternal; y un José debilitado por los años y las múltiples heridas que le ha infligido el destino. Entre ambas figuras se sitúan los ángeles, cuya línea de actuación parece ser la de abrir un abismo de incomunicación entre los esposos.
